How long does a kitchen remodel take?

A cabinet-and-countertop refresh typically runs three to five weeks. A full remodel that opens walls, relocates plumbing or gas, and adds an island generally runs six to ten weeks from demolition to final walk-through. Cabinet lead times are usually the longest item, so we order early and schedule trades around the delivery date.

Do I need a permit to remodel my kitchen?

If the work is limited to cabinets, countertops, and finishes, usually not. Once you move electrical, plumbing, or gas, remove a wall, or change the footprint, the City of Vista or your local jurisdiction requires a permit. We pull permits and coordinate inspections as part of the job — every project is built to code under CA License #980108.

Can I stay in my home during the remodel?

Almost everyone does. We seal off the work area, protect floors and adjacent rooms, and can help you set up a temporary kitchen with the refrigerator, microwave, and sink access elsewhere in the house. Water and power interruptions are scheduled in advance so you know exactly which days are affected.

What is the first step in getting a kitchen remodel started?

A free in-home walk-through. Fray comes out, measures the space, talks through layout and materials, and follows up with a written, itemized estimate broken out by scope. There is no charge and no obligation, and the estimate is detailed enough to compare line by line against any other bid.

Do you handle design, cabinets, and countertops, or do I source them?

We handle the whole scope. Layout and design, cabinet selection and ordering, countertop templating and fabrication, tile, lighting, and appliance install are all bid, scheduled, and managed in-house. If you already have a designer or specific cabinet line in mind, we build to it.
